Scalp Micropigmentation Brisbane and Sydney

Best No Shine Moisturiser for SMP

Most SMP clients in our Brisbane and Sydney clinics keep their hair very short, like a buzz cut or even a wet shave prior to getting the hair tattoo treatment done.

During the consolation one question I often get is "how do I stop my scalp from shining?” The clients find that the shine draws more attention to their bald head.

Theres’ a few factors to address this, and it isn’t just based on what skin care regime or product is best for the scalp micro pigmentation.

White reflects light, where as dark absorbs light, this is why painting a room white will make it appear larger and more spacious, where as a darker room will appear smaller. The light in a white room is more pronounced and bounces off the walls, where as it is absorbed into a room with darker walls.

Our clients with a pale complexion often notice a dramatic difference in the scalp shine after they have had the SMP as their scalp is darker and less prone to the light shiny appearance and it is a great relief to them. In fact even after Session 1 they report a much less shiny scalp from the hair tattoo effect.

But some clients still enjoy using a moisturiser to maintain scalp health and prefer to use a matt effect skin care rather than a gloss, to avoid the scalp shine.

A popular option for many is Palmers Coco butter Daily Moisturiser. Most guys dont want a fussy skin care regime and so the Daily Moisturiser is a great option for clients who want to use the thick Palmers product over their scalp and face to reduce shine and keep the skin supple. The lotion is a pale yellow colour and gets absorbed into the skin cleanly, leaving no residue and a matt finish.

You can buy Palmers products at most supermarkets and pharmacies and online here: https://www.palmersaustralia.com

When we do the Scalp Micropigmentation at our Brisbane and  Sydney clinics we do several layers of fine dots, to mimic the appearance of fresh stubble. My objective in Session 1 is to away the base skin tone with a light shadow effect of the hair loss treatment. In Session 2 my objective is to fill in between the tiny dots with more follicle replica dots and to double the density. So after these two large sessions we are effectively taking away the  colour of the skin and replacing it with a dark, shadow effect like fresh stubble.
